(Disruptor Records / Columbia Records; New York, NY – July 29, 2016) One of pop music’s biggest breakout acts of the year, artist/DJ/producer duo The Chainsmokers has unveiled their eagerly-awaited new single “Closer,” featuring vocals from rising star Halsey and the duo’s own Drew Taggart. The lyric video for the summer-ready single, directed by Rory Kramer, is available to view now HERE. Alex and Drew originally debuted the song in a surprise performance with Halsey at Bonnaroo last month and reignited the crazed anticipation by teasing the track last week.

The release of “Closer” comes hot on the heels of the duo’s two massive smash hits this year, “Roses” ft. Rozes and “Don’t Let Me Down” ft. Daya. Earlier this year, “Roses” steadily climbed the charts all the way to #1 on the U.S. iTunes Dance chart (Top 5 overall), Top 5 at U.S. Pop radio and Top 5 in U.S. Shazam tags. In Canada, “Roses” reached the Top 5 on iTunes. “Don’t Let Me Down” ft. Daya, which was named one of Rolling Stone’s ‘30 Best Songs of 2016 So Far,’ followed, serving as Alex and Drew’s second U.S. Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (alongside “Roses”), while also claiming the #1 spot at U.S. Pop radio for three weeks in a row and accumulating nearly 400 Million streams on Spotify worldwide. The official “Don’t Let Me Down” videos have racked up over 300 Million combined views to date, and the track still maintains positioning in the Top 5 on iTunes Dance chart in the U.S. and the iTunes chart in Canada.

Internationally, “Roses” is now certified 3x Platinum in Australia; 2x Platinum in Canada, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden; Platinum in Belgium, Brazil, Ireland and Italy; Gold in Germany, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland. “Don’t Let Me Down” is certified 3x Platinum in Australia; 2x Platinum in Canada and Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden; Platinum in Belgium, Brazil, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Switzerland; Gold in Denmark, Germany, Poland and Portugal.

Following their breakout performance at Coachella this year, Alex and Drew are set to bring their high-energy live performance to festivals all over the world this summer and fall, including Electric Zoo, Austin City Limits and Electronic Daisy Carnival stateside. They have played major European and Canadian festivals this summer including Pemberton Music Festival, Chasing Summer, VELD, and Ile Soniq, and will be heading to Japan in August for Summer Sonic. The Chainsmokers’ headlining European tour dates kick off in October hitting the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. See full list of dates below.

Having performed their hits on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and most recently on Good Morning America (watch HERE), The Chainsmokers have proven to be a pop culture breakthrough as one of the top acts in their genre today. Accordingly, the guys just received their first ever MTV VMA nomination, securing a spot in the ‘Best Electronic Video’ category for “Don’t Let Me Down.” The guys are also nominated for ‘Choice Music Group’ at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards, airing this Sunday, July 31st.

JAKE OWEN’S AMERICAN LOVE IS AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE TODAY

1

RCA NASHVILLE TO RELEASE A DUET VERSION OF OWEN’S HIT SINGLE “AMERICAN COUNTRY LOVE SONG” FEATURING RONNIE DUNN TO COUNTRY RADIO

Toronto, ON – RCA Platinum recording artist Jake Owen is thrilled that his highly-anticipated fifth studio album, American Love, is available everywhere TODAY.

“This is a great day! I spent a lot of time making sure that this album is full of songs that I think will make people smile and that I want to sing every night,” says Owen. “Unexpectedly, this recurring theme of love kept showing up even though I was experiencing some of the toughest times of my life while making this record. I took that as a sign to never give up on love. Love heals. Music heals. We all need to share some American Love right now in this country. I’m praying for better times for all of us.”

“American Country Love Song” is currently No. 8 and climbing on Billboard Country Airplay & Country Aircheck’s Mediabase charts in the U.S. and #8 on the Mediabase Country Radio charts in Canada.

In addition, on August 2, Sony Music Canada is sending a new duet version of “American Country Love Song” to country radio. Owen is being joined by one of his dear friends and musical influences, the tremendous vocalist Ronnie Dunn.

“When I listen to this track, I can’t help but grin from ear to ear,” reflects Owen. “I was lucky enough to go on tour with Brooks & Dunn early in my career. I would sit out on the lawn of the amphitheaters and listen to their sound check every day. To have Ronnie’s voice on a song with me is a dream come true. I have always been such a fan and when I first heard ‘American Country Love Song,’ it reminded me of the Brooks & Dunn song ‘Only In America.’ I sent the song to Ronnie and asked him if he would sing on it with me. When I received an email back from him saying that he really liked the song and would send the track back to me with his vocal, I was like a kid on Christmas morning waiting with anticipation. And man, did he nail it! I still can’t believe it. I can’t wait to hear what people think about it.”

About Jake Owen:

Jake Owen has had five No. 1 singles to date – the 2X PLATINUM anthem “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” PLATINUM-certified hits “Beachin’,” “Anywhere with You,” “Alone with You” and “The One That Got Away.” The RCA Nashville recording artist will release his fifth studio album on July 29, 2016, produced by award-winning songwriters/producers Shane McAnally and Ross Copperman plus Owen co-produced three tracks, which marks his first time as a co-producer with Lukas Bracewell. The Vero Beach, FL native is well known for his high-energy performances and laid-back style.

JIDENNA RELEASES NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “LITTLE BIT MORE” ON VEVO

1

ANXIOUSLY AWAITED FULL-LENGTH DEBUT LONG LIVE THE CHIEF
OUT THIS FALL

LIGHTS UP 2016 BET AWARDS & ONE AFRICA MUSIC FEST

(July 28, 2016) GRAMMY® Award-nominated, platinum-certified artist and producer Jidenna uncovers the cinematic music video for his brand new single, “Little Bit More” on VEVO today. Watch it HERE. The song heralds the impending arrival of his highly anticipated full-length debut LP, Long Live the Chief [Wondaland Records/Epic Records], due out this Fall.

“Little Bit More” takes 007-style jet-setting, runway-ready panache, and timeless charisma and shakes it up with Jidenna’s clever wordplay, impressive bars, and Afrobeats-infused production. During the visual, he rides a speedboat on clear blue water to an exotic locale rendezvousing with an equally breathtaking beauty. Sparks fly in the narrative and on the hook. It’s immersive, inimitable, and irresistible just like everything he does.

Jidenna is quietly becoming 2016’s most important artist. He recently ignited the sold out Barclays Center in Brooklyn during One Africa Music Fest alongside the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and many more. Jidenna kicked off the summer in June with a stand-out performance live on the BET Awards Pre-Show debuting two new songs, “Little Bit More” and “Chief Don’t Run,” which were met with acclaim by both fans and critics alike.

Critics have been enthusiastically fueling anticipation for Long Live The Chief. Stereogum declares that “Little Bit More” is “perfect to make the summer just a bit hotter,” while XXL states, “Jidenna winds slow, demonstrating an interest in discovering just what preferences his dance party may hold.” Noisey praises the writing on “Chief Don’t Run” and reveals a relief that “it’s good to know the Chief is still in business. Hail to him.”  Rolling Stone writes, “Above an infectious beat, Jidenna is still showing off his bravado,” while  The Source describes how “Jidenna mixes confidence with vulnerability.”

Jidenna leads by example. Confidently standing at the intersection of high fashion, globetrotting, acitivism, and groundbreaking art, Long Live The Chief functions as a statement for modern music and culture at large. Leading up to its release, he’s reached numerous milestones over the last year and a half. After being certified platinum and peaking at number #1 on Rhythmic Radio, “Classic Man” [feat. Roman GianArthur] received a GRAMMY® Award nod for “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.” The success of this anthemic record earned Jidenna the 2015 Soul Train Award for Best New Artist. With show-stopping performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, American Idol, and both the 2015 & 2016 BET Awards, Jidenna continues to light up stages across the globe. Born in Wisconsin, raised in Nigeria, and living in cities across the U.S. including Los Angeles, the SF Bay Area, Atlanta, and Brooklyn, Jidenna possesses a cultivated perspective with the power to speak and to connect listeners everywhere. That’s precisely what he’s doing now.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN RELEASES CHAPTER AND VERSE ON SEPTEMBER 23RD

1

(Toronto, ON, July 28, 2016) ‘Chapter and Verse,’ the audio companion to Bruce Springsteen’s extraordinary forthcoming autobiography, will be released Sept. 23 on Columbia Records. The career-spanning compilation will be released four days before Simon & Schuster publishes ‘Born to Run.’ Five of the album’s 18 tracks have not been previously released.

Springsteen selected the songs on ‘Chapter and Verse’ to reflect the themes and sections of ‘Born to Run.’ The compilation begins with two tracks from The Castiles, featuring a teenaged Springsteen on guitar and vocals, and ends with the title track from 2012’s ‘Wrecking Ball.’  The collected songs trace Springsteen’s musical history from its earliest days, telling a story that parallels the one in the book.

Recordings from Steel Mill and The Bruce Springsteen Band feature musicians who would go on to play in The E Street Band. Solo demos of “Henry Boy” and “Growin’ Up” were cut in 1972 shortly before Springsteen began recording his debut album, ‘Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.’

‘Chapter and Verse’ will be available as a single CD and double LP, as well as via digital download and streaming. The package will include lyrics and rare photos. ‘Chapter & Verse’ will be available for preorder on Friday, July 29.

View filmmaker Thom Zimny’s trailer for ‘Chapter and Verse’ here: http://smarturl.it/ChapterVerseTrailer

‘Chapter and Verse’ song titles:

Springsteen’s gripping 500-page autobiography, ‘Born to Run,’ will be released internationally Sept. 27, published in hardcover, e-book, and audio editions by Simon & Schuster in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and India, as well as other publishers around the world. Springsteen has been privately writing the autobiography over the past seven years. He began work in 2009, after performing with the E Street Band at the Super Bowl’s halftime show. ‘Born To Run’ is available for pre-order here: http://smarturl.it/borntorunbook.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are currently on tour in Europe and will return to the U.S. for a string of dates beginning Aug. 23 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, and ending Sept. 14 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.

JASON BENOIT RELEASES LATEST SINGLE “ALL WANNA PARTY” TODAY

Toronto, ON-July 27th – Jason Benoit, one of Canada’s rising country stars, releases his new single “All Wanna Party” today through JV Records/Sony Music Canada. A barn-burning track, it follows Benoit’s previous smashes “Crazy Kinda Love,” “Cold Day Comin’” and the Top 10 charting “Gone Long Gone.”

The arrival of “All Wanna Party” continues to build excitement for Benoit’s soon-to-be-released full-length debut album, and like his previous singles was produced in Nashville with Dave “Dwave” Thomson (Autumn Hill, Leah Daniels). Now represented by Invictus Entertainment, Jason Benoit has been all over Canada with festival appearances at Cavendish Beach, Boots ‘N Hearts, Trackside (London ON), and Manitoulin Island, on top of sharing stages with Brett Kissel and Tim Hicks, as well as headlining the 2016 edition of the Young Guns of Country tour.

“I remember hearing and loving songs like “”Okey from Muskogee” and “Friends in Low Places” around kitchen tables and camp fires for pretty much all my life. “All Wanna Party” is my take on these fun sing along songs from my past. I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Cheers”-Jason Benoit

Originally from the tiny town of Fox Island River, Newfoundland, Jason Benoit first gained attention with his cover of “This Is What It Feels Like,” the Grammy-nominated song by Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren, co-written with Canadians Jenson Vaughan and Trevor Guthrie. Benoit’s countrified take on the track was included on the Sony Music compilation Country Heat 2014, alongside hits by the likes of Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert.

A year later, the success of “Gone Long Gone” led to Benoit’s celebrated appearance at the 2015 Cavendish Beach Music Festival, where he was named the winner of the Canadian Country Music Association’s inaugural Discovery Atlantic Award. This was soon followed by a nomination in the CCMA’s Rising Stars category, and a performance at the awards gala in Halifax. But, accolades aside, Benoit’s natural ability to command an audience whenever he performs live is proof enough that Benoit’s star is truly on the rise.

Legacy Recordings Set to Release New Willie Nelson Studio Album, For The Good Times: A Tribute To Ray Price, on Friday, September 16

American Music Legend Honors His Friend and Fellow Country Icon With Fresh Interpretation of 12 Classic Songs Ray Price Made Famous

Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Willie Nelson’s latest album, For The Good Times: A Tribute To Ray Price, on Friday, September 16.

On his new album, Willie has teamed up with a pair of longtime friends–producer Fred Foster and conductor/arranger Bergen White–who, like Nelson, are American country music veterans with deep connections to the legendary Ray Price.  Foster and White worked together to complete Ray Price’s final album, Beauty Is…, at Nashville’s Ocean Way Studios, where Willie Nelson has returned to create the magic of For The Good Times: A Tribute To Ray Price.

For The Good Times: A Tribute To Ray Price celebrates the wide-reaching impact and influence of Ray Price on American pop and country music, from Price’s hallmark lush orchestral arrangements (presaging “countrypolitan”) to the patented “Ray Price Shuffle,” the groundbreaking 4/4 walking bass line which transformed honky-tonk and country-western swing music in 1950s on hits like “Crazy Arms”.

Providing musical backup for Willie on six of the album’s tracks–“Invitation To The Blues,” “Heartaches By The Numbers,” “Crazy Arms,” “City Lights,” “I’ll Be There” and “Don’t You Ever Get Tired Of Hurting Me”–Willie is joined by The Time Jumpers, the Grammy-nominated Western Swing dream team comprised of Vince Gill (electric and acoustic guitar, harmony vocals), Andy Reiss (electric guitar), Larry Franklin (fiddle), Joe Spivey (fiddle), Kenny Sears (fiddle), Brad Albin (bass), Billy Thomas (drums), Jeff Taylor (piano and accordion), Paul Franklin (pedal steel) and Willie’s  Family Band harmonica player Mickey Raphael.

For the orchestral tracks on For The Good Times: A Tribute To Ray Price, the Nashville String Machine, a full ensemble featuring violins, violas, cellos, string basses, sax, flute and oboe, accompanies Willie.

A seminal figure in post-WWII American country music, singer/songwriter/guitarist Ray Price began his career singing on the local Abilene, Texas radio program “Hillbilly Circus” in 1948 before joining the “Big D Jamboree” in Dallas a year later.  When CBS picked up the show, Price began garnering his first national exposure.  Moving to Nashville in the early 1950s, Price became friends with country music avatar Hank Williams, going on to manage the Drifting Cowboys after Hank’s death in 1953.  That same year, Ray Price formed his own band, the Cherokee Cowboys, a country music ensemble that would employ Willie Nelson as bassist in 1961.

Friends from their first meeting until Ray Price’s passing in 2013, Willie and Ray shared a profound musical bond, exemplified in Price’s hit recordings of Willie-penned songs like the career-defining “Night Life” and “It Always Will Be.”

A visionary and iconoclastic artist, Ray Price defined and shifted the course of American country music over the course of his career.  In the 1950s and 1960s, he kept grassroots country sounds alive through the infusion of rock ‘n’ roll and pop music elements, going so far as to utilize drums at a time when the Grand Ole Opry had banned them from its stage.  By the late 1960s and early 1970s, Price became one of the godfathers of “countrypolitan,” combining lush orchestral arrangements with smooth-as-silk crooning.  Ray Price’s music connected honky-tonk to big band to rock ‘n’ roll to country swing to pop.  America’s musical landscape would look and sound very different without the contributions of Ray Price.

The profound musical relationship between Willie Nelson and Ray Price goes back to 1960, when Nelson, an aspiring singer-songwriter, moved to Nashville to further his career.  Willie’s composition, “Night Life,” became Ray Price’s theme music, the song he’d use to open his shows.  As Willie’s star rose in the country music firmament, he continued to collaborate with Price, releasing the albums San Antonio Rose (1980), Run That by Me One More Time (2003) and Last of the Breed (2007), a trio album with Merle Haggard. Ray Price made an appearance, singing “Cold War with You,” on Willie’s 2012 Legacy album Heroes.

For the Good Times: A Tribute to Ray Price debuts Willie’s new interpretations of 12 songs Price made famous, including “Heartaches by the Number,” “Crazy Arms,” “Night Life,” “Faded Love” and “For the Good Times.”

Martin Garrix delivers new single ‘In The Name Of Love’

with Bebe Rexha and signs global label deal with Sony Music International

“In The Name Of Love” will be out July 29th

(Toronto, ON July 26th, 2016) The quality of Garrix’s vocal contributions seems to keep on getting better with each release, with Bebe Rexha’s gorgeous delivery and the stunning songcraft of ‘In The Name Of Love’ up there with the best crafted pop music in the world. But this being Martin Garrix, you’re looking at something that falls perfectly between the worlds of arena level dance music and radio catchiness.

Rexha’s bittersweet tones are backed by muted guitars chords in the intro, soaring vocal harmonies soon joining for the refrain. The drop delivers a bombastic hip-hop style beat, driven by beefy kicks, huge synth chords and pitch-shifting vocal cut-ups, the glorious vocal continuing to gather power as the track goes on. This isn’t a simple beat + vocal exercise: it’s a proper song that’s been sculpted into a floor-ready bomb and carries all the emotion and impact that great pop music should always have.

Bebe Rexha is an American singer-songwriter of Albanian descent who sang vocals on ‘Hey Mama’ with David Guetta, collaborated with Nicki Minaj on ‘No Broken Hearts’ and co-wrote Eminem’s huge ‘Monster’. Garrix’s collaboration with her gives a taste of what to expect on his debut album, which sees him team up with a host of incredibly talented vocalists and songwriters to create something a lot more meaningful than your usual dance album.

“In The Name of Love” also marks the first release for Martin under his new worldwide deal with Sony Music International, which was announced earlier today. “Martin is one of the preeminent DJs in the world and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him and his team to the Sony Music family” said Adam Granite, President Northern & Eastern Europe & Africa, Sony International.

Martin Garrix said: “‘I’m super excited to be working with such a hungry and passionate team at Sony Music Entertainment. Their forward thinking approach to streaming and incredible roster of talented artists combined with their passion and understanding for my vision of the future of my music made this a no brainer.”

Martin Garrix feat. Bebe Rexha ‘In The Name Of Love’ is out on Sony Music International on July 29.
